Dorian Gray the movie-
I first read this as a book written by Oscar Wilde, i loved it actually, it was cynical, witty, honest and original. The book is hard to surpass, and hard to depict at that, but i congratulate the creators of Dorian Gray. well i don't really know if the film was a blockbuster or a major hit. It does not really matter-i loved the way they interpreted the story on film, sent shivers down my spine. The movie was very dark, the scene and the mood was deep and rich and it continued to be that way until the end. They did not really follow the book, they gave it their own twist, well you would be glad to know that they did not dishonor the work, you can still feel the emotional workings and the message of the author. Youth, passions, to over indulge in life, in sex, in beauty---it is but all shallow really, come to think of it what does it really mean to stay young forever, or to feel pleasure all of the time. Like the quote in the movie" pleasure is different from happiness"- there is really a soul, a human soul that calls out for more than just the simple longing of the body. I am glad that the story was not religious at all, it just speaks of the inner longing of humans to feel, to find that balance and harmony in oneself, the film is brilliant. If you have not watched it yet, its definitely worth downloading or hiring.
